John Jacobson is Owner of Jacobson Sports & Family Chiropractic.

We are a Sports Medicine clinic offering Chiropractic Care, Physical Therapy/Rehab, Spinal Decompression, Active Release Technique (A.R.T.), Graston, Kinesio-Tape, Massage Therapy, Acupuncture, Trigger Point, Muscle Activation, Nutritional Testing/Counseling, and Sport Specific Fitness Coaching.Our Facility is 5000 square feet, has 8 treatment rooms, a full gym, therapy room, and is attached to a Bikram Yoga Studio, an Organic Cafe, and a Hair Salon.

Why are you excited for 2012 Fittest Doctor?

I enjoy exercising and eating a balanced diet, so this is a great way to check if my efforts to keep fit are paying off.

What is your strategy for staying fit with your demanding schedule?

I exercise every morning at 5am before I have time to let my brain realize I should have hit snooze and went back to sleep.  All my meals are prepared from whole food sources and organic when available, this allows me to stay clear of nitrates and excessive gluten sources.
I am very active in my workplace, being a Sports Chiropractor keeps me on my feet and moving all day, no rest for this guy!!!
I participate in running/cycling/tri events every weekend from feb to october to make sure my weekends are filled with fitness activities to keep me motivated.

What is your current favorite workout to do and why?

Circuit Training.  It keeps my heart rate in my training zone, and I can switch it up every session so I never get stuck in a plateau.

Why is being a fit doctor important to you?

I am my best business card, if you want to choose a Sports Chiropractor you want someone who emulates the lifestyle you want to achieve, after all I cant give solid rehab/training advice about something I don't participate in.

Give one piece of advice to others looking to get fit and healthy as a busy professional.

Time Management is the Key.  Schedule your daily routine to make time for a 10 minute meal every 3 hours, wake up early and get your day organized to avoid chaos in the workplace, when your body tells you it needs rest - Listen.

What is your favorite healthy meal?

Grilled Salmon topped with a Vegetable Puree, side of Sweet Potatoes, and plenty of H20.
